'The Office' Parody...

It was this week last year in my high school TV class, normally we were supposed to put together a weekly news show, but since the week was short because of finals, I asked my teacher if we could do an office spoof instead and air it for the school. He said if we could do it well we could put one on.

This short parody is my brainchild. I wrote, directed, and edited the entire thing, and I act in it for just a second. It was very fun to do because normally my role on that show was to be an anchor, editor, and write the script for the teleprompter. My friend had all the creative control and directing privileges.

12 Days of christmas

So this is my last blog, and before we all leave for christmas here is an Indian Goodbye. Enjoy!

Thank you

My last blog should really be about how much I have enjoyed this class (BTW #2 King Kong #1SamWise Gamgee)

God has truly blessed me with a class that was just what I needed my first semester of college, my first semester of truly being an artist.

The Fridge taught me its okay to cut deep, really deep

Flannery O'Conner taught me that you can't squeeze God into art. Art and God is a package deal

Sandman, Tcho-Tcho, The Street and Tale of Tales - Taught me that you can't be afraid to get a little wacky and you do truly have to love what you do.

Joel, you taught me to stick to my guns!

Professor, fellow students you guys taught me that this university is exactly where God wants me to be for the next four years.

Thank you very very much!
God Bless you all!

Music Video

After watching the OK Go video in class I was really amazed at all their work they had put into the making of the video. Its really amazing watching their final product. I looked through more music videos by other band until I came to this one. It's called 'Good Life' by one republic. I really like their music video for this song. It was a really nice concept that they managed to pull of very well. And it's just a really nice song.

semester summary

So i feel like i have learned a lot in this class.

First, this class began by totally rocking my world by talking about art not as a mode of preaching to people, but rather showing what we see, about asking questions and working through them. Quite honeslty, at first I was really confused. I was like, I think I understand and agree with what he's saying, but when I would try to summarize what we were talking about I was lost. That may have been what Leeper was talking about when he said we would be running into trees.

Secondly, we saw a lot of different films that I would have never seen before. My some of my favorites were Feather Tale, Circut Marine, George Lucas in Love, and Gay Boyfriend. I also really enjoyed learning more about animation, even though i'm a film pro major and still intend to be.

Anyways I really enjoyed this class I am going to miss it. :(

3 idiots

As I have said before, many bollywood movies contain a lot of cultural meaning. The following movie is probably the best example that I can think of. It was made to address the issue of the educational system in india. In India the value of education is respected. And the best possible thing that a son or a daughter could do is become a doctor or an engineer. So a kid his whole life would be give those two options to chose from. Other jobs have no value as they are not as high paying. So parents force their kids to get into universities and pursue a career from between the two. However due to the number of people in india, the number of admissions are very limited. Thus there is high competition, Very high competition. Kids would study their entire youth for these entrance exams. And if they don't pass, A lot tend to commit suicide. This movie focuses on this exact issue. How parents in india need to allow their kid to chose their career path. It was a brilliant film and well executed.

Inspirational Commercial

This is such a great commercial! It has such a great story, you don't even know its about shampoo. The video was giving me trouble though.

Favorite Ads of 2011

I'm a big fan of really well done commercials, so I thought I would post my 3 favorites for 2011.

1. I love this ad because it creates a really good emotional connection with the viewer, while displaying a potential use for Google's products. This ad is beautifully done and my favorite for 2011.

2. When I saw this ad during the Super Bowl, I was glued to my tv. The voiceover is excellent, and it all leads up so perfectly to Eminem's lines at the end. I really like the cinematography in this ad as well, and thats what puts it at number two on my list for 2011.

3. My third favorite for 2011 is another super bowl ad, and one that most of you are familiar with. Its funny, and I think its really effective.

Bonus: This is a really funny, and not very well known commercial somewhat related to film production.

More awesome videos

If you saw my last blog you saw that I'm a big fan of these videos. The first video is an awesome/hilarious action video. The other two videos are behind the scene videos that I think are pretty sweet. I don't know how to do the effects they use in the video, but I am really interested in learning. Check them out.

I'm going to miss this.

Do you ever sit somewhere and just sit there dwelling on something, thinking "I'm going to miss this?" It's how I feel about this class. It was pretty much my favorite class. It had a lovely mix of people, stories, and a bit of learning, all of which I fell in love with. I don't think there was a single class where I did not have a smile on my face at some point. Either there was other people enjoying something, which made me smile like a domino effect, or having a little sub-conversation in the back, or something witty being spoken out into the class. It doesn't feel like it should be over, you know? It feels like there should be another class, were we waste half the time since someone posted something on the blogs that needed addressed, or we had an awesome reading guide test.

I loved sitting where I sat with the people I sat with, though I kinda wish I sat with other people, just to see what it's like from their viewpoint, and maybe get to know other people that I barely talked to better. It probably would have had a bit less giggling. Just a tad.

I'm going to miss sitting next to the people I sat next to, and staring awkwardly at David till he stops drumming on the table, and watching videos all the time. I'll miss sharing meaningfull glances with Amanda about a joke only we know about, or saying Kelsey, Kelsey over and over again only to say, You're a wizard Harry! I'm going to miss how half the time Kyle's head blocked me from most of Leeper's sight. Sitting there with out a computer, since I fail to own a Macbook pro. It's like I fell in love with this class or something.
