Mufasa as a God-like figure

The last time I watched the Lion King it kind of clicked for me during the stampede scene how Mufasa may represent a God-like figure. Simba got himself into trouble and had no way out without help. Mufasa was willing to jump right into the face of danger to save his son, not knowing whether or not he himself would make it out alright. Now yes, this is also a demonstration of the way in which a good parent should act as well. But in essence, parents, children, and humankind in general is meant to be molded after God and therefore act in ways our Savior did.

Mufasa (a savior) jumped down to save Simba (humankind) and remove him from the stampede. Simba represents each and every one of us in sin. We're stuck and need help out, which is why God sent His son down to earth for each of us. So that we can each be safely removed from the stampede.
