Fan Films

Personally, I really love watching fan films. Mainly Star Wars fan films, just because that is what there is most of. But in my many hours of fan film searching on YouTube, I came across this particular full-length film, and it is in my opinion the best fan film ever. Hands down.

Born of Hope is a Lord of the Rings prequel fan film, and focuses mainly on Aragorn's father, Arathorn. The story is solid, the actors are surprisingly good, and the props/costumes are spot on for the Lord of the Rings feel. There are some slow scenes in the film, and a lot of people may find this kinda boring, but the filmmakers successfully stayed true to Tolkien lore. So if you are a REAL Tolkien fan, you'll be able to appreciate it. And at times, certain scenes look like they came straight out of the LOTR movies. It's that legit. Especially for being independent and relatively low budget.

  2. Yeah, Hunt for Gollum is good too (same filmmakers), but Born of Hope is better in my opinion. They're both excellent though.
