'Semester One'

Semester one, coming to a close! I have learned allot, well in DMA that is. I don;t remember w=much about the other classes. But one thing that I have learned from class and working on short films this semester is how FRICKEN AWESOME it is! But seriously. Sunday I went from filming my film all day to another shoot and I was ready to go. I know that I have chosen the right branch of study. I am looking forward to what I have to learn in the next seven semesters and hope that I will become the best filmmaker I can be. I hope you all grow allot in these coming years and I pray that you all will find your place in the world! Also thank you Leeper. I can't wait to learn and get to know you even more these coming years.

Also here is the short film I made for DMA105.

'The Graduate'

One of my favorite past times is watching the supposed "best movies of all time." I look at lists like AFI.com or IMDBs Top 250 movies. 'The Graduate' is one of those films that I often see on lists. Also being Nathan Hartman's favorites, I decided to dive into it and see what I thought. This film is a comedy/drama but it is fricken funny. Dustin Hoffman plays the lead roll of Ben Braddock a recent college graduate who doesn't know what to do with his life. He becomes involved in an affair with his parents friend and end up falling in love with her daughter.

The film plays out beautifully from start to finish. The cinematography and direction in this film is top notch! Also a layer of musical flavor from Simon and Garfunkel, Pretty sure I heard the sound of silence 3 times throughout the film. Dustin plays the roll of Ben marvelously throughout the film. Ben's awkwardness drove this movie on for me. But opposite of him
Anne Bancroft Mrs. Robinson is a fantastic character who seems to be the only sane person in this whole film. Anyways you have to see it to grasp it. It is a marvelous movies and I am sure will only get better with future viewings.

8.5/10

'A Walt Disney Christmas'

Today I got A Walt Disney Christmas on Super 8mm. I have already watched it twice. One to view for pleasure and the second to take pics. This film is in great condition with just a little fade, but is holding up really well! I was very excited to get this films for two reasons. One I love Christmas films and two it is my first one on Super 8.

Anyways, this is a compilation of 4 Disney Short Films; Toy Tinkers, Santa's Workshop, The Night Before Christmas and Pluto's Christmas Tree. These are extracted versions to fit in 16.34 min, 400' reel. ON can hardly tell that they have been extracted at all, they flow very well together. This has already become a new favorite and I will enjoy many viewings. You can find all of these shorts on YouTube.
