One of my favorite past times is watching the supposed "best movies of all time." I look at lists like AFI.com or IMDBs Top 250 movies. 'The Graduate' is one of those films that I often see on lists. Also being Nathan Hartman's favorites, I decided to dive into it and see what I thought. This film is a comedy/drama but it is fricken funny. Dustin Hoffman plays the lead roll of Ben Braddock a recent college graduate who doesn't know what to do with his life. He becomes involved in an affair with his parents friend and end up falling in love with her daughter.
The film plays out beautifully from start to finish. The cinematography and direction in this film is top notch! Also a layer of musical flavor from Simon and Garfunkel, Pretty sure I heard the sound of silence 3 times throughout the film. Dustin plays the roll of Ben marvelously throughout the film. Ben's awkwardness drove this movie on for me. But opposite of him Anne Bancroft Mrs. Robinson is a fantastic character who seems to be the only sane person in this whole film. Anyways you have to see it to grasp it. It is a marvelous movies and I am sure will only get better with future viewings.
