A Place to buy Movies
There's this store I found in Ft. Wayne called Disk Replay. The sell movies, music, and video games. A lot of the movies are really cheap only about $4-6. This is a great place to go since we probably all love movies. This has been a helpful message from your class cheapskate
Mario Kart Commentary
So one thing I love to do with friends is play video games. Me and my friends have gotten real good at Mario Kart Wii. So now every time I come home we play a set and record them and film us so we can do live commentary. I do all the editing and them put them on my friends youtube channel. Here is the latest race.

A Real good song
This video is just about the best thing ever. It is a song of over 40 internet memes. Features things like nyan cat, keyboard cat, trololo, double rainbow, rick roll, friday, numa numa, and so many more. If you've ever been on the internet you'll recognize something from the song. Real work of genius in this vid.
Superhero Movie

This is a movie I watched a while ago. From the reviews I read before everyone thought it was a terrible movie. It wasn't too high budget, but I thought it was pretty good. What this movie is is basically the Spiderman 1 script with a bunch of sex jokes. I guess I really like movies that are kinda bad parodies of other movies. This movie is really funny, but most people think it's terrible. While it mainly goes along the spiderman plot it has other superhero movie references such as Batman Begins, X-men, and Fantastic 4. This one is definitely the best out of the "___" Movie movies.

Real Good Movie Themes
It's pretty obvious to say sound is one of the most important parts of a movie. More specifically, a movie needs good music.
Here's a list of 5 real good themes I thought of.
5. Jurassic Park
4. Back to the Future
3. E.T.
2. Star Wars
1. Pirates of the Caribbean
5. Jurassic Park- I've know this theme forever and it's just so good. It's a real soft song for a not so soft movie.
4. Back to the Future- Last year in band we played a song that lasted 8 minutes with a ton of movie themes and this was one of the most fun to play. I've seen the movies so many times it's hard to not love the music.
3. E.T. this was also in that band piece and it was the big ending. We played so well that the audience shouted for an encore which never had happened before. We played through the E.T. theme again and it was a really great moment. Ever since then I've loved the song and it's stuck in my head all the time.
2. Star Wars- These are probably my favorite movie series ever so I had to put this in here. I guess 3 on this list are John Williams, but that is no big deal, because he's pretty dang awesome.
1. Pirates of the Caribbean- Just a perfect movie score. It has a real epic sound and goes great with the picture. It just feels awesome to hear.
These are a few that I quickly thought of. I have tons more favorites and if I gave it more thought the list might be different. No big deal.

High School Media Anger
Last year, my school had a media class where we would make videos. This class was supposed to be great. But it was just trash. The way it worked was we were in groups and had to make videos alot, once a week if we could. The videos would be shown at lunch every Friday. Most of the people in the class didn't take it seriously at all. They would sit at the mac computers and watch family guy all hour when people who actually needed to use the computers to edit couldn't. Then because they wasted all their class time they would throw together a crappy interview video where they asked random students 1 question. They were always really boring and no one ever cared. There was no system to keep track of who had finished their projects and which ones got shown. People who worked really hard on videos, including myself, never got them shown, and instead people saw the dumb ones that were put together in a bout 20 minutes. I worked on a music video completely by myself and edited it for 13 hours and it was sweet. It never got shown and the one that was shown had 1 clip of a teacher waving his arms for at least a minute. and they didn't have enough footage so they just stole other groups clips and threw them behind the music. It made me real mad that people who worked hard never got work shown. Big time dumbness. Here is a video I made by myself in this class if you'd like to see.

A real good blog
I have been following this youtuber for quite a while now, before he got really popular. A while ago he even replied me on twitter. He makes epic rap battles of history and they have had huge success getting millions of YouTube views and topping charts on iTunes. This video is the newest one, it just came out today and it is very well done. A lot of time people think there is mostly bad quality vids on YouTube. That's not true at all and this proves it. It's very high production with a huge crew working on everything. Check it out, it's real good. **there is some profanity in this, just letting you know.

Real Good Movies that People Hate.

I've realized there are quite a few movies out there that I really like and many people hate them. So I'll write some real good blogs on a few of them. The first is Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The first thing people say when they hear that title is "ZOMG that fridge scene and the aliens is so dumb." Here's the thing. even with those things, that are kinda silly, it's still a real good movie. The series are action movies. This one is no exception. The action in Crystal Skull is not bad at all. In fact, the opening scene, and the sword duel are just as good as other action scenes in the original movies. I don't know why people would think this one ruined the whole series. Harrison Ford still did well even though he aged quite a lot. The return of Marion was also cool to see. While it has it's flaws, it did what it was supposed to as an action movie. Indiana Jones will always be one of the greatest movie series ever, even with a nuclear bomb-proof refrigerator. Was crystal skull better than the originals? No. But is it total trash? Not at all, still a real fun movie to watch.

Star Wars Spoof
I really love Star Wars. I have watched all the movies many times and really appreciated the spoofs we watched on it today. Quite a while ago, I made a star wars spoof. It is right now my most viewed video on youtube with about 15,ooo views. In the vid, Darth Vader has a job in the restaurant waiting tables. Remember it was done a long time ago, so the quality is not the best. But check it out, star wars fans really seems to like it. If you were wondering, I am the one playing Vader. Enjoy The Restaurant Empire Ruled by Darth Waiter!

Good Ol' Harry Potter

Well I'm 19 years old and the first time I watched the first Harry Potter was yesterday. Yep, that's right. Earlier in the summer, I went to go see the Deathly Hallows part 2 at the theater. I hadn't seen any of the previous movies or read the books, so I had not really any idea what was going on. I just watched the movie for the special effects pretty much. Yesterday I picked up the first movie for $4 and watched it. I guess it was real good. I figured I would like it a lot because I'm a nerd when it comes to Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, so I thought I'd step up the nerd level a little more. I'm gonna have to watch all the rest someday. and because I never read the books I won't get mad about the things they left out like a lot of people. Alright that's enough words for this blog. Harry Potter is alright with me.

A real sandy video
I was on just now on youtube, putting off my the research paper, and came across this. It's a video of the show kinda like America's got Talent, except this is in Ukraine. Anyway, it's a woman making art on a sheet of glass with sand. We talked earlier in the year about sand art, and I think it's really cool. Hope you check out the vid, it is really amazing talent.

So a movie that is coming out next year that I'm pretty excited about is American Reunion. This is the next one in the American Pie series, but this one features the cast from the original movie. I know a lot of people don't like the movies because they think that it's nothing but dirty jokes. But really, teen movies like this are some of my favorites. I'd rather watch a movie and laugh for an hour and a half then watch a "this is one of the best movies of all time" movie that is supposed to change your life or make you think really hard about something. To me, good humor is pretty much makes me want to watch it or not. I am real excited for this movie to come out. It will be real good to see all the original cast again with some kind of crazy idea to have some fun.

The Spirit of Christmas
We talked about this the other day in class, and I had never even watched this till now. This is a Christmas short made in 1992. This is about 5 years before Season 1 of South Park even aired. In this cartoon, they use paper cutouts to animate. They have tons of little mouths and put them on the characters to make them talk. It's amazing how much work can go into such a short film. The show is now in it's 15th season, with over 200 episodes, and they would probably still be on season 1 if they used this method the whole time. Now that they use computers, they can do it much faster but the show always has the same look as this first original short.

You don't get it. Should I care?
This is the interview my group did. I slipped a story in there while editing. I'm surprised how many people don't get it. It doesn't even seem those who worked on it got it. Here's the thing, I'm not sure if I should care. I mean, if you pay attention to what's being said, what you see when it's being said, and what you hear and when you hear it...then you might just put it all together and walk away with the feeling that was intended. There's also that "aha!" moment that I like, but the problem with that is you've got to be able to put that together. Ask yourself, why am I being shown this right now within the context of the whole.
When making a film is it alright to slow the bus down to let more people on? Stanley Kubrick didn't when 2001 bombed at the box office. In fact, he pretty well kept his mouth shut about what he was going for on that on all the way up to the day he died.
I'm happy with it. In fact, the only regret is that, in order to get it done on time, I had to plow through it, which took some of the experience away from the others. That's my fault for not trying to put it together sooner. I've tagged them all in this post. It doesn't have to count as blog credit, but if it does everyone deserves it. Anyway, check out the awesome lighting and location by Megan Carpenter.
Note: After writing this I went back and tried really hard to make it more obvious what I was going for. It didn't really work. It seemed forced. It is what it is.

All the Single Ladies Murdered
This is the finished video I blogged about earlier. It's a good Halloween themed vid, and also pretty funny. Hope you guys check it out and let me know what you think.
Saturday, October 22, 2011

This last monday, I filmed a video. It is a Halloween story I wrote. We were very short on time while filming this, so some things got forgotten or not done right, which I'm not happy about. But now I'm editing it, and it seems to be ok now. This is my first try at making a video a little scary. The video was so fun to film and it's fun to edit it. I hate scary movies, but making this is just so much fun for me. I should be up sometime tomorrow on Youtube. I will post a real good blog of the video when it is up. Here are a couple shots of the video.

A Real Good Fall Break
This fall break was real good. I drove 5 hours home Friday. Then I met up with friends at midnight and we played some mario kart till 2:30 AM. My friend likes to upload the races onto his youtube, and we had done that lots before. This time we recorded the race, and filmed us playing live, so you can see our reactions and hear our commentaries. Then the next morning I had to clean the church so I woke up at 8. After I did that, the guys came over again. We did stuff for the rest of the day. Sunday and Monday I was finally able to sleep, so I did that most of those days. We had planned to film 3 videos during fall break. Lots of bad stuff happened so we couldn't film. Then Monday night we got together, and filmed a Halloween video. I will blog more about that later. I'll tell ya what, that one is gonna be real good. Thats enough words for this blog. If you want to see the mario kart video, it is down below. I don't say too much this time, but thats no big deal.

New South Park

Last week was the premiere of the 2nd half of season 15 of South Park. I am blogging about this, because I don't watch that much stuff anymore, so I needed to blog since I watched it. The episode is a part two to last spring's "You're Getting Old." That episode had some big changes, showing a divorce and basically the fabric of the show being ripped out. Fans freaked out, thinking it was a metaphor for frustration with the creators and were calling it quits. Well that wasn't the case, because a new episode was aired last Wednesday. As soon as I got a chance to watch it, I really liked this one. It was exciting to see where they would go after the part one episode. It ended up turning out just as I thought it would, with some good irony and things people won't expect. I've come to expect that from these guys. There are new episodes coming out every Wednesday for the next six weeks which is real good. I might do some blog work on those if I get a chance to see them.

A Real Good Blog

Today I really liked the Fairytale films we saw. Reminded me of a story we had to write last year. We were to take the Goldilocks story and change it how we wanted to. Mine was a very silly and funny version. We had to read the stories out loud to the class, and the whole group was laughing the whole time, which felt real good. Watching these films today kind of inspired me to write another, but this time make it into a video. I think I've got it all figured out how it's gonna be. Thats another video added to the pile of 7-8 ideas that I have no time to do. woo. but if it ever gets done, it'll be pretty gangsta.

Help Wanted
Hello everybody. I am working on a small video for my Youtube channel. Here's the thing. I need a couple people to be in it. There are 2 spots for girls. One is a real small part and the other is a bigger one. If someone in the class wouldn't mind helping me out, that would be real good. Things that might scare you away: Girls have to act pregnant. One will do nothing except stand on a scale and be happy. The other has to lay on a bed and scream for a bit. Also this video will be seen by over 1,000 people so know that. And lastly, I'm sorry but I can't pay you, but I'm willing to help you out if you help me out. This will be a pretty funny video, it won't be embarrassing or anything. Let me know if you would like to help out!
