Oldies

I'm all for the newer films that come out but when it comes down to it, I really enjoy the classics. Older films like 2001: A Space Odyssey or older comedies like Young Frankenstein are some of the films that I remember watching even as a child. Recently, I watched a film called Cool Hand Luke, and I must admit that it's one of my favorites. Paul Newman really sells his role as a man who just cannot conform to the society in which he is a part of. Even while working on a chain gang Newman's character cannot conform to the rules by which he MUST abide. The film just seems so authentic while watching it and the cast is so believable, it's just one of those films that will stick with me the rest of my life. I would recommend giving it a watch, especially if you are a fan of Paul Newman.

So what about you guys? Do you have a favorite "oldie but goodie" film that you enjoy watching over and over?

  1. Cool Hand Luke is at the top of my list. You're right about Newman in this film. Great casting all around.
