So even before class started today, I was thinking about the topic fairy tales. The one movie that popped out at me while thinking about fairy tales was Pan's Labyrinth. The movie incorporates reality and fantasy extremely well. The main story line is that a girl is actually a reincarnated princess and must complete three tasks in order to become a princess again. Throughout the movie, I realized that the girl's reality was more frightening than the tasks she has to complete in a different world.
I'll write more on this movie later. But if you haven't watched it I'd really recommend it. The make-up effects are amazing and even though it's in Spanish and some parts are extremely violent it's still a really beautiful film.
