Has anyone seen Pushing Daisies?! Please someone say yes! :)
If not, allow me to express how amazing this show was. It only lasted 2 seasons because of the author strikes a while back.
The story revolves around a pie maker who has a strange gift...he can bring the dead back to life by touching their skin. The catch? after 1 minute of the dead being alive, someone else takes their place if the pie maker, Ned, doesn't touch them again to kill them for good. Nobody, except his dog (the one who Ned has had all his life) who is a result of his magic finger, knows of his gift (or curse as he refers to it as sometimes).
It isn't until a private detective see's him accidentally bring a guy back to life. The two of them form a friendship around Ned helping Emerson Cod (detective) solve murders by asking the dead who killed them.
Life seems all hunky dory until Ned learns of the death of his childhood sweetheart. Mr. Cod is simply interesting in knowing who killed her, but Ned has other plans. He brings Charlotte (nickname: Chuck) back to life, and intends to keep it that way...as long as he doesn't touch her skin. Chuck and Ned rekindle their romance, much to Cod's dismay who just wants to do his job.
And in all this commotion, Ned's assistant (Olive, played by Kristin Chenoweth) in the Pie Hole (his pie shop) is in love with him.
This all sounds very dramatic but its the totally opposite. Its hysterical! The show even has a narrator (Jim Dale...he's the one who reads the Harry Potter book on tapes). The words I would use to describe the shows personality would be, quirky, random, obscure but amazing.
There's a few people in the show who suffer from the 60 seconds consequence, but I don't want to give too much away.
Thoughts? :)
(If nobody has seen this amazing show, and is somewhat interested, let me know. I'm bringing both seasons from home with me next week)
