Audience?? Oh yea!!

So I don't know about the rest of you guys, but when I think of a story in my head I'm not writing it for anybody...and maybe I should! Like the guy professor Leeper was talking about, the guy who made Spirited Away. He made each of his films for a specific child. I think that is really cool!

Maybe that shows i need to work on my generosity

But for now, anyway, the stories that I come up with, is just like God's grace letting me make some sort of sense of the mess around me. The mess inside my head.

And how does having a specific audience fit in with not being manipulative? Are you just choosing the people you think will most stimulate "the conversation?"

Maybe writing for yourself corresponds with what professor Leeper was saying about how your art should tell you.

Or maybe this even goes along with Singer. Ya know? He was talking about how the more national you are the more international your audience becomes.
