Balloon Animation

I just StumbleUpon'd this today and I found it very interesting.  It's a commercial for MTV that was created by putting a camera on a dolly with a needle on the end of the dolly.  Balloons were attached to the dolly track with various stages of animation.  As the dolly rolls, it pops balloons allowing us to see the animation progress.  I had never really thought if this as a way to create an animation but I think it really works well and is interesting to watch.
