Pleseantville and Today

The film has many themes that have to do with today such as;

*Personal repression gives rise to oppression-That when we're afraid of certain things in ourselves or afraid of change, we project those fears on to other things, and a lot of very
ugly social situations can develop.

*The film is a morality tale concerning
the values of contemporary suburban America in the 1950s.

*Pleasantville is a false hope. The journey in the film by the
main characters shows that there is no "right" life, no model for how things are "supposed to be''.

Which is still true to today's world, many times the world or society is offten shown in a sort of fake way in certain entertainment aspects, but like the film shows there really is no model of how things are suppose to be, you just have to live in this life in a realastic way.
