Underrated Movie Soundtracks

"A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..." Most people know what this quote is from and everyone knows what follows after it. The infamous Star Wars title appears and the even more infamous space adventure music plays. There are plenty movies that you can just listen to and you know what movie is playing immediately. Jaws's tension building theme, James Bond trumpet/guitar blaring intro, and Rocky's inspiring training music all are fantastic examples. But what about the movies that aren't as popular but still have great soundtracks? Here is a list of some truly underrated and beautiful movie soundtracks that I really enjoy.

Rudy-Tryouts

Tryouts, like Rocky's theme, is also very inspiring. The piano in it is very simple but I find it to be really catchy and enjoyable! After I listen to this song I always feel like doing something really epic.

Sunshine-Sunshine(Adagio in D Minor)

This is perhaps the most underrated theme I have ever heard. This song makes you feel so sad, but it  does it in a beautiful way. The song plays at just the right time in the film as well, which made the movie emotionally engaging. This song is one of my favorite songs of all time.

The Island-My Name is Lincoln

The Island is an underrated movie in it's own right(a surprisingly well-made movie from Michael Bay, in my opinion) but this song is very beautiful. It reminds me of discovering something new and the excitement of it.

Cloverfield-Roar

Some people hated the movie and others thought it was unique. Regardless, the only original music in the movie is during the credits...and it's amazing. It's scary, it's adventurous, it's mysterious, and it's incredible.

What are some of your favorite and underrated movie soundtracks?

  2. I agree about "The Island." I'm NOT a Michael Bay fan, but I do quite enjoy that movie. Definitely his best.

These soundtracks are fantastic as well! Really love the "Rudy" score, and "My Name is Lincoln" is one of my favorites.
