Pre Movie Cartoons

So I have been searching around on the internet look at Super 8mm Cartoon shorts to buy for my projector and it got me thinking. Why don't the theaters show pre-movie cartoons anymore? (Well besides Pixar) I mean I don't think they had these cartoons during my time but I wish that they had kept with it. I know there a a couple of factors that have caused this to happen. The studios aren't making the short Looney Toons, Disney's Silly Symphony or Tom & Jerry anymore for the theater. All I know is that if I opened a theater in the future, I would always show a classic cartoon to preview before the movie starts. I love these classic short cartoons. I remember when I was growing up, how I loved watching them on TV. I remember staying up late with my friends when I had sleepovers to go upstairs at 12:00 and watch some old B&W Mickey Cartoons (This being the only time they were on). I feel that the magic of the cartoon shorts have gone away and I would love to see these classics return.

  1. I would have to agree. I loved "Looney Toones" and "Tom and Jerry." They were both big parts of my childhood and huge comedic influences.
