Super 8mm

I recently became very interested in 8mm projectors when the library had a sale and I bought a Technicolor 8mm Cartridge Projector for $1 and a bunch of cartridges for $.10 each. The problem with this projector is that it doesn't take film reels, so I am unable to watch any films besides the educational ones I got. Anyways, this got me very interested in buying a Super 8mm Projector. Which is what I did. It is on its way and I am very excited for it to come.

The Super 8mm films are becoming more and more rare though there are still a great number you can find. On average, a 200ft short animation reel will cost you about 15 dollars. Which in the end is worth it, but expensive for 5-10 min short. But I am really excited to start out as a new collector. I am mostly interested in getting animated shorts, Tom & Jerry, Disney shorts. You can by full length films on multiple reels, but they are expensive. a 'Gone with the Wind' Super 8mm feature is over 200 dollars on ebay right now. An expensive but awesome hobby for sure. Once I get a few films I will be planning on having screening on Livingston 3rd. I will keep you all posted.
