BOLD

In honor of the topic I'm typing all in bold.
So Leeper mentioned something in class today about Froyd and how the church tends to cover it's ears and dismiss anything that's insulting. I was just thinking how much God must be disappointed in that. Sure, sin is bad but why is it bad? What makes something sinful?
I almost garentee that most of your first answers are what you've been fed from your christian upbringing, some of you have not been raised that way so there are varied answers but basically, first answer is "what goes against God"

I'd like to argue against that a bit, because i think that answer is just so incredibly shallow and well not really motivating for me at least to work to glorify God. For the longest time in my christian upbringing, it just made me think that as long as I followed His commands, be a good person believe in Jesus, go to church, blaa blaaaa bla, then I'd live a decent life and all would be swell, in troubles i could depend on praying to my slot machine god and maybe get lucky and get a good turnout.

I've recently come to new ways to look at sin, and it's not the bad actions that you do, those actions come from somewhere. The bible tells us that sin comes from our heart.
Proverbs 4:23 AMP
Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.
Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt

Sin is from the heart, living for God could be so so soooo good, more then just living as a good person so much more then just being... good because if you're living a "good" life, it's a lie, you're not good.
Pretending that your good and when confronted with all these sinful things you just ignore it, be a good person don't engage with the sinful. Jesus would be ashamed, the guy that went and hung out with prostitutes, tax collecters, sinners. We're called to love, live and lead these people.
God doesn't call His people to just follow the rules, be good, do as I say and just ignore all that crap outside of that, they're hopeless focus on yourself and your goodness.
I think God calls us to sacrifice our comfort, our security, our very Selves and be BOLD. Like it says in 2 Timothy 1:7
7 For God gave us not a spirit of fearfulness; but of power and love and discipline.
In other words, be BOLD (caps and bold for extra power)

I think it's sinful to back out of confronting these things because that says you are afraid. You're afraid your God isn't strong enough to battle this or confront this, that your God can't answer the question. Be BOLD in your God, if your a christian, you should act like it. Christians have gotten this sorta stereotype that we're meek and small. We are, if we stand alone, but our God is so great and powerful so if we shine His light we shine His strength as well.
As a future animator, an artist, someone who's going to be in a very controversial and outspoken world I'm glad I have the friggen creator of the universe to help me out, I want to be what I can be for Him.

k so this has been an uncharacteristically serious post for me so I'm going to ruin the mood and give you a video of my favorite youtuber singing a literal trailer to a popular movie.
For the lol's

  1. I really liked your blog! As christians we have every reason to be bold. God is with us and He has redeemed us to himself!

I forgot who it was who brought it up in class but somebody was talking about how he always *tsk tsk* at the Pharasiees for being to legalistic and not even realizing that Jesus was the Messiah but we do The same. that was a really good point.

Jesus was't afraid to get dirty. Neither should we!
