I was watching the video that Dr. Leeper showed at the very end of the class and something just popped up in my mind when I saw those people carrying things. I thought of how there are some people in this world that want to take things with them to heaven. Like the rich man in the bible who said what must I do to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven? The lord says sell all you have and give the money to the poor. Then come follow me. He then turned away sad because he had a lot of things. Then Jesus said, I tell you the truth. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. I saw that in the little clip because they had so many things and it looked like they were heading to heaven with all of the stuff that they had. I also had another image pop into my mind. I thought of them as burdens to the people, and they hadn't confessed their sins. This could be taken either way. This is my view. What do you guys think?

Take something with you!

So I had the same thought! But I didn't feel like it was the right feel. Like, it reminded me of that, but it's not quite what it means.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't made the connection between their burdens in the film and sins before your comment. I can't help but think in this case the burdens they carry are the yoke of sins committed against them. It reminds me of Jesus' claim that his yoke is easy to bare.
