To be completely honest, I never thought of Little Red Riding Hood as being sexual. So I started to think, what other meanings were I missing? I knew the other stories that we talked about like Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast. I guess it's easier to see the messages as we get older. So it looks like I'll be spending my weekend watching Disney movies. Also, on a side note, I really liked the quote we talked about in class "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing wrong" it really sticks to me but I won't go into detail about that. So as for my Disney movies I'll be watching this weekend, it makes me love being a film major even more. :)
Unfortunately much of the depth of the original fairytales are Scrubbed out of the Disney versions. Walt ( and later Katzenberg) deliberately chose versions rewritten for 19th century salons as feel- good stories that played up the happily ever after. If you want the real deal read the Brothers Grimm.
