Crazy

I already tried to post this already and had a lot of rambles thrown into it but I'll cut down on it.

So my best friend back home (about 23 hours away :'( ) Sent me a link to this trailer and said we had to see it when I got back. We decided after she broke up with her bf this summer that I was her pseudo boyfriend so this would be a future date. I'm still not sure who opens the door in this relationship but anyways, I thought this was a chick flick at first which I don't usually enjoy thoroughly but I decided I would accept this movie.

I do have a taste for the indie scene and this comes straight out of Sundance with an indie hue to it. But I don't think it'll follow a lot of the hipster cliches. It's a love story yeah but not the typical boring crap I can call five minutes into the movie. The leads seem to have a great on screen chemistry and the story is tragic and got me emotionally invested in just the 2 minutes the trailer runs.

Quick synopsis: A British college student falls for an American student, only to be separated from him when she's banned from the U.S. after overstaying her visa.
Simple yet it looks to be very filled out. I'm just curious if the lead girl role falls into any stereotypical "girls that fall in love" character. Or if the guy falls into the "what a man should be but the expectations are not realistic" character. Not sure but I'll let you know.

  1. It's actually very befitting that you posted this right after my blog b/c it just so happens that this film was entirely shot on a Canon 7D! I remember seeing the trailer to this last semester, looks like an interesting story, definitely something that I'd like to check out sometime!

  2. I don't know. This film looks like the standard formula:
    -Guy and girl meet.
    -They fall in love.
    -They have lots of sex.
-An obstacle comes. (She has to leave the U.S.)
    -Guy and girl are miserable.
-They try out other people. (Something I find very cheap.)
-They get back together and live happily ever after.
-Or tragedy strikes and they break up or one of them dies.

While I can't guess the ending, the film gives away 3/4 of the movie and what I've seen in the trailer has been done a million times before.
