The Hudsucker Proxy...

...that is what Sydney J. Mussburger (Paul Newman) needs in this Coen's brothers screwball comedy. They need a sucker, a dope, a...well...a proxy. After the death of the founder of Hudsucker Industries the board has to find a way to get the company worth very little so they can take full control without spending a fortune. Norville Barnes (Tim Robbins) is their answer. Or so they think...
This comedy is certainly not something you would expect from the darker, grittier comedy of the Coens. Its really an ode to the classic days of hollywood. The acting was pleasantly over the top while still retaining feeling and emotion, not too much, but enough for this type of comedy. This certainly isn't a movie with a whole lot of depth. Its more like a fun ride through the park, which in truth is what we need more of in the cinema these days. Just films that will open your imagination and capture a child like wonder we used to have going to the movies for a night of fun.
Overall this film is very enjoyable and tons of fun to watch with your friends and family. It truly shows how versatile the Coens are and will continue to be. If you have not seen this movie yet take a look! You'll find laughs and maybe a glint of something more!
