Ok, so this really doesn't have a lot to do with film, but it has a great deal to do with animation. I'm sharing this because it is an incredible use of negative space. Up until I switched majors, I was in a Drawing I lab where we had to do a couple assignments using negatives, and I really found it to be a challenge. I think the picture itself is a perfect description of the way you can use negative space to create a powerful image. Anyways, I'm done rambling. Enjoy.

I think there's definitely a mermaid!! But which did the artist have first in mind when creating this artwork? If I were to recreate this, I would draw the mermaid first and then add in the positive space around it.
ReplyDeleteI wanna see you do that! Make something like this please :) haha and yeah I know there is a mermaid, but its a catchy title and kinda goes with the negative space idea
ReplyDeletethere is no spoon.
ReplyDeleteat first i couldn't see the mermaid, but now she's the first thing that leaps off the page whenever i scroll by!
