Another movie that is an older Disney film that, like Pete's Dragon, combined live action with animation to create a musical! Are we starting to see a theme here in my countdown? wait till you see #1 :) it just might have something to do with music....
This film is the story of three kids who are taken in during the evacuation of the 1940 London Blitz by an apprenticed witch, played by my favorite actress of all time, Angela Lansbury. If this name doesn't ring a bell for some of you, maybe this will help...
A majority of this movie is complicated to explain based on it's obscurity but in a nut shell, Miss Eglantine Price (the witch) has a magic bed that when you turn the knob it transports you to another world. The kids, the witch and her friend Mr Brown (Mr Banks) are whisked away to the island of Naboombu which is based off of one of the kid's books. This movie probably sounds like the dumbest thing in the world at this moment, but I promise, it's worth watching! This movie actually won an academy award for visual effects, which are pretty amazing considering this movie came out in 1971.
Here's a taste of the music...
i just love Angela Lansbury...
Has anyone else seen this and love it as much as I do??? :)
