My 11th Favorite Movie of All Time: Notorious (2009)

Okay, so I expect that most of you haven't seen or don't like this one. Most critics gave it a bad review as well, but only for what they call lack of insight into Biggie's thoughts. Of course, the cast and crew found these difficult to obtain, since during every day of production the character the movie was based off of was six feet underground. If you pay close attention to Biggie's music and even his character in the movie, you know that most of the time, everyone close to him in his life was wondering what the hell he was thinking. Sure, they could have implied more based on his actions, but many would have been outraged. This movie was made for the true Biggie fan, and that is who it pleased. It tells the beautiful story of a young man growing up in the armpit of the nation and rising to become one of the greatest icons of pop culture. One of the best lines in the movie is from P. Diddy's character: "You can throw me butt-naked in the jungle, and I'll come out with a with a chinchilla coat, a leopard hat and 10 pounds heavier from eating them!"

I love a good rags to riches story, and the fact that this one is about one of my favorite artists of all time just makes it that much better.
