My 12th Favorite Movie of All Time - Do The Right Thing (1989)

#12 - Do The Right Thing (1989) starring Danny Aiello, Ossie Davis, Spike Lee - Rotten Tomato Score - 96%

Spike Lee, right during the heat of the issue, made one of the greatest movies on racism that I have ever seen. He dives head-first into the thick of things with wonderful color, scenery, characters, and music. Critics from the Chicago Sun Times said that this movie came closer to the way things really were in America at the time than any other movie like it. The movie is based around one hot, hot summer day in Brooklyn where things just escalate. Movies that take place in one day are usually pretty good, and this is no exception. If you have a particular hatred for racist behavior and social ignorance like myself, the last part of the movie will have your emotions firing on all cylinders.
