All for Nothing?

I was deeply moved by the piece entitled "Rien". I think it spells out perfectly our sinful nature and how it has caused disharmony with the rest of creation. At the beginning you have a Creator, who is marveling at all He has created: The land, the sea, the birds, the beasts, the water life. And then he creates man. And they are nothing but discontent with what they have been given. So the Creator tries to do everything he can to give them what they want to make them happy. Unfortunately the two do not go hand in hand with mankind. They cannot both get what they want AND be happy. Oh sure, they'll enjoy the brief exhilaration of having being given something new, but they go right back to wanting more and not being satisfied. So eventually the Creator gives up on trying to please the ungrateful mankind, and leaves them to wallow in their self pity.

Being by nature very ungrateful and selfish, man rebelled against not only creation but the Creator as well. We even see a spear hit the Creator in the forehead which causes him to die. "God is dead." if you can recall the quote by Friedrich Nietzsche. Mankind then thrives on exhausting all resources with the help of the Industrial Revolution until they finally see the complete and utter death and desolation that their philosophy on life has created. It is only in their own destruction they they decide to rebuild, and finally take after the Creator by growing and bringing life to creation. At the end they have reconnected with the Creator who is alive in the creation that they are seeking to rebuild, and isn't it befitting that from the face of the Creator comes a rainbow? As if to say, "Never again."...
