2 very different movies and a bit of class

Tonight, while working on my paper, I watched two very different films, both of which I adore. The first one has the gorgeous Heath Ledger, rip. A genius film, that kind of reminds me off the way medieval artists would represent the biblical stories. Plus everytime I think of Joshua from the Bible, I think this movie, and how Joshua asked God to stop the sun in the sky so the day will last longer. I love how they most likely didn't say stuff like "It's called a lance. Hello!" Or sing Queen songs before jousting. Mmmm... good movie. And Heath Ledger. He was so very delicious.

The other movie I watched was also a comedy. An old musical that I both love dearly and love to make fun of. Especially all those teenage girls's singings. They're horrible, I tell you. Horrible. But I still love it. The colors, the songs, Dick Van Dyck, the styles. I love it all. It's more of a happy bubbly comedy favorite than an epic forever my favorite favorite like A Knight's Tale.

And so I got bored of writing my paper, and my brain was like, "You know, I can't do this anymore anyways." And then I looked at my two movie choices for the evening and thought to myself, "What an odd combo." Bye Bye Birdie and A Knight's Tale. The only connection they really have is that they both make me smile. Even the way they were shot and the way they are presented is so different. Bye Bye Birdie was made in 1963, and has the feel of that era. It has the slightly trite musical numbers of the day, and a happy ending that resolves all the problems at the end, with of course a musical number.
A knight's Tale is a movie I always look at fondly, with love and a bit of wishfulness to watch right then right there. Sadly I hadn't watched it for a while. I love the way it ends, how it just fades up into the stars, not telling you if every little thing is resolved, but leaving you satisfied with the ending none the lest. It always leaves me smiling contentedly. And isn't that the best part of comedies? When they leave you with that warm fuzzy feeling of contentment. Like that feeling on Saturday morning, when you're prefectly comfortable and have no place to go till tomorrow.
A picture I drew of Audrey Hepburn. Since we're supposed to show our art? And I wanted to show I can do better than the other drawings I've shown. Plus, all of the people I've mentioned her to didn't know who she was! I was appalled. She's classic! Especially in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Which I happen to be watching at the moment. If you've ever heard the song Moon River, you've heard the theme of the movie. It's also a great movie. I always kind of wanted to be Holly Golightly. Just a very teensy bit. You know in the Princess Diaries 2? When she says it'll take you 5 seconds to walk to that door. I'll give you 2. That's an Audrey Hepburn quote. Classic and classy.

Unlike me, no matter how much I wish. Cause I do things like add pick up lines to my blog! Yay! I do wish I was classic, and classy and glamorous and elegant though. Doesn't everyone, a little?

If I followed you home, would you keep me?

  1. I love Audrey! She's not my favorite actress to watch, but she's one of my favorite people. And I simply adore Moon River, it's one of my favorite songs. There's a part of me that wishes to be Holly Golightly as well... and own a cat called Cat.

Also, great drawing of Audrey! You drew the Audrey eyebrows perfectly. :P
