The other movie I watched was also a comedy. An old musical that I both love dearly and love to make fun of. Especially all those teenage girls's singings. They're horrible, I tell you. Horrible. But I still love it. The colors, the songs, Dick Van Dyck, the styles. I love it all. It's more of a happy bubbly comedy favorite than an epic forever my favorite favorite like A Knight's Tale.

And so I got bored of writing my paper, and my brain was like, "You know, I can't do this anymore anyways." And then I looked at my two movie choices for the evening and thought to myself, "What an odd combo." Bye Bye Birdie and A Knight's Tale. The only connection they really have is that they both make me smile. Even the way they were shot and the way they are presented is so different. Bye Bye Birdie was made in 1963, and has the feel of that era. It has the slightly trite musical numbers of the day, and a happy ending that resolves all the problems at the end, with of course a musical number.
A knight's Tale is a movie I always look at fondly, with love and a bit of wishfulness to watch right then right there. Sadly I hadn't watched it for a while. I love the way it ends, how it just fades up into the stars, not telling you if every little thing is resolved, but leaving you satisfied with the ending none the lest. It always leaves me smiling contentedly. And isn't that the best part of comedies? When they leave you with that warm fuzzy feeling of contentment. Like that feeling on Saturday morning, when you're prefectly comfortable and have no place to go till tomorrow.

Unlike me, no matter how much I wish. Cause I do things like add pick up lines to my blog! Yay! I do wish I was classic, and classy and glamorous and elegant though. Doesn't everyone, a little?
If I followed you home, would you keep me?
I love Audrey! She's not my favorite actress to watch, but she's one of my favorite people. And I simply adore Moon River, it's one of my favorite songs. There's a part of me that wishes to be Holly Golightly as well... and own a cat called Cat.
ReplyDeleteAlso, great drawing of Audrey! You drew the Audrey eyebrows perfectly. :P
I asked my sister if it was too late to name my cat cat. she said that i couldn't rename him. :(
ReplyDeleteand why thank you :) I worked hard on it.
